I do, You do, We all do

As always I will speak to the brides that want to enjoy their wedding planning process.  I will speak to the 20-somethings that have so many things going on in their lives that planning a wedding is just the icing on the cake. The problem is that this icing can very quickly become a flavor you do not like. You know the one, sometimes when they put a red colored flower on your cake it has a slight bitter taste to it.  I mean icing is always good but it might not be your favorite, but I digress. To ensure that this process is all it should be, make sure you keep it about you and your lover boy.

Have a talk at the beginning. A couple of days or weeks after the engagement, talk about the focus of the wedding. Because I will tell you now that EVERYONE WILL MAKE IT ABOUT THEM. Your parents will want the wedding they have never had. Your friends will want the wedding they may never get. Your bridesmaids will want you to pick the people they like and the dresses that accentuate their figures. The groomsmen will only be worried about the bachelor party. All the vendors will just be worried about getting paid. The bridal magazines will only show you the ads that make them advertising dollars. The guests will want everything to be for them. Hell, even the flower girl will want an extra piece of cake. It is up to you and you’re hunny to decide that this wedding will be for you. A true expression of your love. Do not fall into the trap of pleasing not one person. When you start you will never stop. Plan the wedding you love within YOUR budget, with YOUR ideas and YOUR vision. Keep this in mind hunnies; it will save you headache and greenbacks.
